ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS IN THE WORKPLACE AND LESSONS TO BE LEARNT

ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS IN THE WORKPLACE AND LESSONS TO BE LEARNT “The workplace is a perfectly wonderful place to meet a person and start a romantic relationship.” - Liz Ryan.  Last week Monday, the same day I decided to pen down my thoughts and disappointments about our President's ill-health and in-ceremonial return (http://shegzsablezs.blogspot.com.ng/2017/08/pmbs-return-and-matters-arising-my.html). Insider sent a mail stating that romantic relationships in the Workplace would be discussed among other sundry issues on Radio One - Sterling Bank's In-House Radio Station and I was so inspired because this is something we intentionally shy away from. Initially, I had plans to make it less trivial and quite informal in the wake of the Sallah celebrations but I think love is a very delicate issue and I do not want my female readers to be offended. However, we should not forget that today's conservation would only be limited to " Love and the Place of Wor

PMB'S RETURN AND MATTERS ARISING: MY OPINION

PMB'S RETURN AND MATTERS ARISING: MY OPINION Surprisingly, I had plans to write something different for the week. I probably thought my article on Workplace Relationships and Office Romance would be published this week but I changed my mind when I learnt that the Kogi State Government declared a public holiday on Monday to celebrate the safe return of the President who was on a Medical vacation for 103 days in the United Kingdom. This gigantic act of stupidity could not have passed me unnoticed. Perhaps, my readers would not dispute the fact that I employ every means possible to stay away from Nigerian politics in my weekly articles and write-ups but this show of shame as reached its tipping point. We need to remind our leaders that we are intelligent and educated individuals and they need to sit up and take the task of governance more seriously. We need to wake them up because their inept leadership skills are effecting every aspect of our socio-economic life as a country.

WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY: SIERRA LEONE NEEDS US “Everything is gone. We’ve lost everything – our house, everything. The mud came down with the water so fast and my son did not escape. We found him lying in the mud. He was just a boy. They took his body with the others to - I don’t know where. God help Sierra Leone. Why are we cursed? What are we supposed to do now, with nothing?” (Issatu Koroma, from Regent, is among the hundreds of people to have lost relatives and their homes in the mudslide. Both her son and nephew are missing. Monday, 14th August, 2017). The United Nations’ (UN) World Humanitarian Day is held on August 19 each year. The day honors all humanitarians who have worked in the promotion of the humanitarian cause, and those who have lost their lives in the cause of duty. It aims to increase public awareness about humanitarian assistance activities worldwide and the importance of international co-operation. World Humanitarian Day is a day dedicated to huma

COUNTDOWN TO MY BETDAY: WHEN AGE IS NO MORE ‘JUST A NUMBER’ Age is just a number - Oluwole Olusanya (Friday, 28th July, 2017) Last Friday, 28th July, 2017, the same day I posted my article about the last Local Government Elections (https://shegzsablezs.blogspot.com.ng/2017/07/last-saturdays-local-government.html), I was out for lunch with a female friend and we talked about some random things. One of them - the number of years we have spent on earth and I concluded ignorantly that " age is just a number ". Honestly, I knew I was wrong but I said that because it seemed appropriate at that time. I also spent some minutes alone during the weekend and I was thinking about my life in its totality and the fact that I will be celebrating my birthday in 10 days! I thought; " what have I achieved in life?"  "In the last 365 days, what have I done differently?" "Am I a better person compared to the previous year?" "What reasons justify t
