‘A DAY WITHOUT NEWS’ DAY: A MINUTE SILENCE FOR OUR FALLEN HEROES “My family is so deeply appreciative of the efforts of the ‘A Day Without News’ campaign, for raising awareness not only of my sister’s murder at the hands of the Syrian government but of the growing numbers of journalists and photographers who are targeted in war zones throughout the world every day. I am particularly touched that February 22 nd , the anniversary of Marie’s death, would be selected as the day to launch this critically important effort.” — Cat Colvin (Late Marie Colvin’s Sister) “It’s really important to show the world not as we imagine it but the world as it is: beautiful, amazing but so, so vicious. And photographers and journalists do this every day, every hour. Some of them die for this. We have to make the general public sensitive to the importance of the press. One year ago, on February 22 nd , Rémi Ochlik died in Syria doing his job, and because he was doing his job, he was targeted, and

#THINGSWEDOFORLOVE: DAVE & LAUREN’s STORY IS UNIQUE.

#THINGSWEDOFORLOVE: DAVE & LAUREN’s STORY IS UNIQUE. On Friday, 10 th February, 2017, the same day I published my article on how to make our marriages work on my blog; ( http://shegzsablezs.blogspot.com.ng/2017/02/would-you-want-your-marriage-to-work.html ). Insider sent a mail asking us to send in inspiring stories on the things we have done for love at some point in our lives to celebrate the St. Valentine’s Day and win some amazing prices. Kene was the first person to tell me about the mail and I had not really made a final decision on what to write for this week so I would like to acknowledge that the mail was heaven sent. Perhaps, I am sure we all have something out of the ordinary we have done in the name of love at some point in our lives that is worth sharing but I think Dave’s story is extraordinary and inspiring. In the next paragraph and beyond, I will entertain my readers with an interesting story about a guy I would refer to as Dave ( I would tell you guys his

WOULD YOU WANT YOUR MARRIAGE TO WORK? THESE TIPS CAN HELP

WOULD YOU WANT YOUR MARRIAGE TO WORK? THESE TIPS CAN HELP On Friday, 27 th January, 2017, Emmy and I visited Monseg Travel World in Gbagada to retrieve some account opening packages I had given out earlier. Co-incidentally, I concluded my article on the 2017 appropriation bill ( http://shegzsablezs.blogspot.com.ng/2017/01/2017-appropriation-bill-budget-of.html ) on the same day and I had not really decided the topic for the following week. So I asked Emmy if she had anything in mind she would like me to write about and she was like; ‘ Please write about the marriage fever in Nigeria, somebody wants me to write something on marriage ’  and I was like; ‘ okay, I have not really written anything on Marriage before ’ so Emmy’s suggestion worked out for me. However, I have written an article on relationships – ‘ Tips on How to Build a Lasting Relationship’. You can read my previous article on relationships on my blog; ( http://shegzsablezs.blogspot.com.ng/2017/02/tips-on how-to-bui

Tips on How to Build a Lasting Relationship

Tips on How to Build a Lasting Relationship Elizabeth spits, “ I want to end this hopeless relationship; Edward is a cheat, a pathological liar and an unserious flirt; he only acts nice when he wants that thing. This rubbish has to end, I am done with him and this time, we are never ever getting back together.” She concluded in a very harsh tone. Emeka’s story is quite an unusual and a pathetic one, he explains in a sober tone how his 15 years marriage came to a halt because of his wife’s sexual promiscuity. “ I don’t think I would ever forgive that woman. In fact, I curse the day I met and fell in love with her, and I despise her!” He exclaimed, in a very gloomy voice overwhelmed by tears he fought so hard to hold back. James has lost hope on finding true love; “ This is the seventh time a lady would break my heart, I am done because I do not want to end up having post traumatic disorders, heart attacks or dead, I just want to be happy again even if that means that I have to

BREAST CANCER CAUSES, SYMPTOMS & PREVENTION TIPS: 30 MINUTES WITH DR. M. A. OLUDARA.

BREAST CANCER CAUSES, SYMPTOMS & PREVENTION TIPS: 30 MINUTES WITH DR. M. A. OLUDARA. I am surprised you know all about Breast Cancer and you are not even a Medical Doctor – Dr. M. A. Oludara (1 st of January, 2017) The Encarta Encyclopaedia describes Breast Cancer as a malignant tumour of the glandular tissues of the breast. Such tumours, also called carcinomas, form when the processes that control normal cell growth break down, enabling abnormal cells to multiply at a rapid rate. Carcinomas, which tend to destroy an increasing proportion of normal breast tissue over time, may spread, or metastasize, to other parts of the body. However, Dr. Oludara’s explanation is more explicit and understandable, He explained that Breast Cancer is an uncontrollable growth and multiplication of glandular cells that make-up the breast tissues and ducts that supplies milk to the nipples. Alternatively, it can simply be referred to as a kind of cancer that develops from breast cells. Br

Gender Equality: Let’s Make It Happen

“Gender equality is a shared vision of social justice and human rights” – Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, UN Women Executive Director. The 8 th of March is the International Women’s day;it is a day when women are recognized and celebrated for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potentials and opportunities that await future generations of women, also to address the numerous challenges that the female gender is faced with. This is a day which some people celebrate by wearing purple ribbons. Regrettably, one of the challenges that the feminine gender is faced with is gender inequality, the unavailability of access to equal opportunities that men enjoy. Many disparities persist between women’s legal rights and their economic status. In a typical African home, the male child
