POEMS COURTESY OF BLOSSOM

IVIE OKUJAYE is today’s Women Inspiration.
Ivie Okujaye is a fast rising Nollywood actress, scriptwriter, dancer, movie producer and activist. She is also famed to be Genevive Nnaji’s look-alike.
Ivie was born as the last of five children to a Delta state Father and an Edo state Mother, on 16th May, 1987 in Benin City.
She did her primary education in Our Ladies of Apostles in Benin City. Her secondary education in Queens’ College Yaba, and her university education in University of Abuja where she studied Economics.
Her parents – typical Nigerian parents, already had her career planned out for her before she could learn to decide for herself. They wanted her to study Medicine and Surgery but fate had some other beautiful plans.
Ivie’s rise in the entertainment industry began after she won the Amstel Malt Box Office reality TV show. She was a stage performing artist prior to this and these experiences and wins took her to starring in her first movie – Alero Symphony in 2012.
After her first appearance on screen, she wrote her own movie titled – The Volunteers which was shot in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria and was produced by Desmond Elliot.
Ivie Okujaye is interested in the affairs of women and children and she showed that in the movie – Make a Move, where she played the lead role. Make a Move is a movie that proves that there is healing through arts. It was focused on helping the youths finding the audacity to follow their dreams and do something meaningful with their lives despite all odds.
Ivie has starred in movies like 7 Inch Curve, Burning Bridges, Make a Move, The Volunteers, Alero’s Symphony, Dowry, Hotel Majestic, How She Left my Brother, Kamara’s Tree and The Black Silhouette.
In 2010, she was nominated for the award of the Most Promising Talent at the Best of Nollywood Awards.
In 2012, she won the Best Young Actor Award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for her role in Alero Symphony.

In 2013, she won the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Trailblazer Awards.
In 2014, she won the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in The Volunteers.
Ivie is married to her best friend, Ezie Egbo, who she walked down the isle with in 2015. They have both brought into the earth two lovely children and they pray to continue to grow in the friendship that brought their hearts together and in love.
Ivie Okujaye is an inspiration for most young women. She has stayed out of troubles since she came to limelight and she strongly stands against money influencing her roles. She goes with passion. And as well wishes that movie directors would give upcoming actors and actresses the chances to try out newer things and roles and put behind stereo-casting.
