EXPRESSION
Sometime last week, I came across a man who told me to keep quiet while “the men spoke” as he called it. In his language “na so e supposed be”. I was compelled to say many things to him but then I resigned because it occurred to me that having a conversation with him was futile. Think about it, for him a woman should never speak up for herself or otherwise, because that’s how it’s supposed to be. Who made it so?

I felt a lot of things at that moment but most of what I felt was pity. I felt pity for him because first, he would not get far in life with such absurdity for a mindset and then he was going to remain at the level, longer than he imagined.
See, here’s the clause. We say all the bad things that are wrong in the leadership and the society, forgetting that it is us who makes up the society. Imagine a society where everyone thought pattern was at least nearly fashioned to accommodate the next person. Bad leadership or not, we would have a more stable society to live in.
