EVEN IN THE CHURCH

Things are now happening o, unexpected things even in the church. Daniel and his sister walked into the church, heading to the last sits close to the exit. 

‘Welcome, please sit here’ a female Usher beckon on him and sister. They both sat together looking around like babies. 

‘God will not do a miracle you are not prepared for.’ The Pastor’s message hit him hard, as he brought out a pen to jot down.

‘How do we see the pastor to explain to him our challenges to him?’ Esther asked her brother Daniel during the sermon.

‘Wait after church, we will, you know we are coming to this church for the first time and they will want to give us much attention.’ He replied.

‘Ok at least, thank God’ she said as she looked into the screen to watch the pastor preach.

‘If you are worshipping with us for the first time, we love you, we'll love to give you a welcome song,’ the assistant Pastor said holding a yellow microphone as the senior Pastor handed over to him. Immediately the choristers stood to sing the welcome song. Daniel and his sister sluggishly stood up.

‘Welcome, good to have you here,’ as members walked around to greet them. 

‘Church as closed, how do we go to meet the Pastors and explain to them we are new to the state?’ Esther asked again holding her big bag this time scared of what might happen.

‘Calm down, we will go, just wait. The church is still very busy’ Daniel said in a low tone. 

‘Invite the newcomers over to my office’ the senior Pastor said to one of the male ushers.

Lucky for Daniel and his sister they were the only new members. 

‘Pastor wants to have a word with you’ the usher reached out to them.

‘Good evening sir.’ Daniel said.

‘Good evening, how are you?’ the senior Pastor asked.

‘We are fine sir; I was blessed by the sermon tonight. God bless you richly sir.’ David said. ‘Ohhh, all glory be to God. Sir, we will love to discuss an issue with you.’ Esther voiced out. ‘What would that be?’ The Pastor asked. 

‘Sir, we are new to the state as she sampled her big bag. We don't have anywhere to lay our heads for the night, if you don't mind sir, I and my sister can join the security men to sleep in the church premises’ Daniel concluded.

 ‘Ahhh, ok I will discuss with the rest of the Pastors, just sit and wait somewhere.’

‘Thanks so much sir God bless you, sir.’ They both chorused. 

Senior Pastor strolled down from his office with some Pastors. ‘I just had a meeting with the pastors, and we have decided to let you in. But as you know this is a church premise we won't allow or watch any form of sin. His presence needs to be kept holy and without blemish.’ The senior Pastor advised.

‘Are you siblings?’ one of the pastors standing close to David asked.

‘Yes, we are we bear the same surname.’ David replied.  

‘Ok, no issues. Please stay calm take care of your sister, Daniel.’

‘Ok sir, God bless you sirs’ they both chorused.

Immediately, the Pastors left.

‘I told you, they will let us in,’ Esther said with excitement.

‘Thank God, they did oo, where do we even think we could have slept...Ahhh I'm happy as he looked for a chair to sit. Come and sit on my laps,’

‘What's that? you want the securities to know we are dating; you want us to start here. Be careful’ Esther warned. 

2:00am in the middle of the night, Daniel woke up to check around. He couldn't control himself. He has to do the needful with his sister. 

A few months later.

Esther ran to the backyard to meet her brother. ‘Daniel, come,’

‘What!’ he asked.

‘Do you know sister Blessing asked me if truly you are my brother.’

‘Who is sister Blessing and how does she know?’

‘The one in the choir’ Esther explains, ‘she knows nah the closeness between us is too much’ Esther frowns.

‘You and I know we are always acting like lovers. Forgetting that this is a church we are also workers too. People are watching.’ 

‘But the plan was to act like siblings that was the reason I had to bear your surname. What if the Pastors find out?’ Esther said. 

‘Before the pastor finds out, let's start acting like siblings, Case Closed!!!’ Daniel said as he bends down to pick funnel to pour fuel into the generator.

What if Daniel and Esther happen to be members of your church and you got to find out this act.
