STAYING CALM IN THE MIDST OF A STORM.

It is possible to be under the same circumstances with people but have a different experience.

When Jesus Christ said to His disciples “let us pass over unto the other side” Mark 4:35, and he was in the boat “asleep on a pillow” His disciples were in the same boat; Jesus had rest, He had peace, He had slept but His disciples were frazzled, disturbed, freaking out, stressed and yet they were all in the same boat as Jesus, under the same circumstances of troubled seas, however they were having different experiences.

Why is this?

Attention.

Isaiah 26:3 says “thou will keep in perfect peace, mind (thoughts or imaginations) stayed on you…”

If we keep our focus on the words of Jesus Christ before the crisis began, we will be in the same situation and under the same circumstances with colleagues, friends, business partners, etc. but we’ll have different experiences.

Even though they all got to the other side as Jesus Christ did, I bet he got there more relaxed, composed, fresh and rested, because His attention was on the words of life He had spoken.

We can be insulated from wrong experiences around us while we are under the same circumstances as everyone else, if we will keep our confessions and mind and heart focused on the words of God.
