POEMS COURTESY OF BLOSSOM

Drifting

There were times when I wanted to change the world, at least my world, Africa.

The pureness of my purpose coined so many decisions and thought pattern I drank from.

There were so many things going on that were wrong, my heart would bleed anytime I saw something that wasn't right.

Along the line our beliefs were being choked. Wrong felt like right and if it didn't feel wrong, we could pass on it.

Slowly our humanity is dying, she begs with a faint breath seeking strength again to wriggle out of the Claws of the beast that has held captive.

Her souls still beat human but she doesn't recognize who she is anymore, because her memory only collects what she chooses.

Today she shouts with vigor and strength, even when each shouts are a torn on her flesh by the beast she once embraced.

Let us come together in unity, purpose, renewed strength, zeal and God's love. Flooding out that which tries to eat away our humanity and our growth, trusting God to make us right as we grow.
