…. THE THING ABOUT GETTING OLDER

 

As we get older,

We become bolder.

Reality becomes more real,

With the more of life that we see,

And the bittersweet emotions we feel.

 

The older we get,

The more the pile of regrets.

Memories we'll wish we can bring back,

And times we'll wish we can turn back.

Maybe, it just hadn’t hit us yet.

 

As we get older,

We become surer,

As we realize ‘loving’ is hard.

Struggling in that regard,

We learn daily how best to play the card.

 

The thing about getting older

Is that the twist and turn,

of the race we run

 Make us even stronger.
